System File Protection

It restricts accidental system file deletion. Normally all-important system files are hidden. One cannot delete these files until they make it visible. Windows Update

Windows Update helps people in staying updated with all security patches, driver updates, software updates, and service packs released by Microsoft regularly. These security patches can provide safety from known threats and it fixes bugs in operating system if any. It is very simple to configure Windows Update on your system. It is advisable to set your system for automatically downloading and installing updates. This way you do not have to worry about the updates anymore.

Windows Firewall

A firewall restricts unauthorized access, information theft, and illegal hacker's intrusion into a computer. Windows operating system comes with an in-built firewall that provides protection to your computer. It is advisable to keep this firewall on if you do not have any third party firewall installed on your system.

System Restore

Sometimes your system crashes due to power failures, virus attacks or after installing potentially unsafe software. In that case, you can restore the previous settings (along with all installed software and data) of your system with help of System Restore feature. You need to create a restore point to use this service.
